Our team is composed of some of the brightest minds in the industry, and we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible. We are passionate about creating a better world, and we believe that we can achieve this by empowering individuals and organizations to make sustainable choices.
Our story
Partanna Global was founded by Sam Marshall and Rick Fox.
Sam, an award-winning architect behind some of Los Angeles’ most iconic developments, has witnessed first-hand the limitations of the construction process that can hinder the vision of developers.
In 2015, he enlisted a team of world-leading material scientists to help streamline the process. Through their research, they identified a new technique for producing building materials that were carbon negative over their lifecycle.
As a serial entrepreneur, Rick has built various business across different industries from the ground-up. He believes passionately in the power of enterprise to drive sustainability and social impact outcomes.
For both Sam and Rick, the creation of Partanna Global was personal. Both have experienced the devastation that climate change is causing – with Rick supporting relief efforts in The Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian, and Sam seeing his community devastated by the Woolsey Fire in Southern California.
Together, they founded Partanna Global, a company built on their shared passion for creating a better future for our planet. Their mission was simple yet profound - to use their carbon-negative concrete technology to mitigate the effects of climate change and help create a more resilient and sustainable world.

Ralph Chami
Senior Advisor
Ralph Chami PhD, is an Assistant Director at the IMF. He is currently on sabbatical from the IMF working on tackling the two risks to humanity – climate change and biodiversity loss. He has developed a model for valuing natural capital, including blue and green nature as well as flora and fauna, and a framework for developing the natural capital markets for ecosystem services.
Livio Bisterzo
Senior Advisor
Livio Bisterzo has been an entrepreneur all his life. In 2003, while at college, he started his first entrepreneurial venture working in youth culture, marketing and events. Ever since, he's been building businesses from the ground-up across different industries, creating some strong and successful companies along the way.
